Christmas 06

27 December 2006

We have had a great Christmas break so far. Do I ever have to go back to work? Here is a summation of my break: I bought a new yellow sweater, I made an apple pie, and I got a digital camera. :)

My camera takes cool pictures like Chelsea’s camera. (My shirt is pink and everything else is black and white, in case you can’t tell.)

Aren’t my parents sweet?

We had fun spending time with Cliff’s family: Cody and Mellisa, and Cori, David and Evelyn: Cliff’s brother and sister and their families. Here is Cori, David and Evelyn.

Evie had fun with Uncle Cliffie. Her current phrase is apparently saying to people who she is slightly annoyed with “You’re a poot.”

How to spend $20

6 December 2006

Here are the things I came up with…

1. Go out to eat at Cheddars, but the funnest part here being… get a cookie monster!
2. Buy a fun purse at Target.
3. Take Cliff to go see “The Nativity”. Movies are so expensive here and when you are no longer a college student! $8.50 a ticket!
4. Find something fun to buy at Old Navy.
5. Get your husband some chickens from Samaritan’s purse.

And here’s what I did…
nothing yet!
I tried to spend it on dinner from Cheddars, including the yummy cookie monster. But my nice husband made me put my $20 away and he paid for dinner with some cash he had. So I still have it to spend. And I really want a fun sweater. I tried to look at walmart for a cheap fun colorful sweater, but couldn’t find one. Lately it seems I keep getting fun money but then can’t spend it. But I will let you know when I finally spend it!

What would you do with…

$20 that someone gave you and said to spend it for fun?
Leave your answers and I will then tell you what possibilities I came up with. :)

Thoughts of today…

5 December 2006

I was at school for 12 hours today. Early at 7:30 for a math meeting, and there til 7:30 to make up a math professional development from the summer. Gag. What a way to start the week!

Last week, I had a kid make a bar graph about how many boogers people had eaten in their lives.

I like watching SuperNanny. She is smart.

My dog is making squeaky noises with her red toy right now.

My hubby is not home and I don’t like it when he is gone overnight, but I know he has to sometimes and I am spoiled because we haven’t been apart much since we have been married.

Happy Anniverary to mom and dad a few days early. :)

The Schlotsky’s people forgot lettuce on my sandwich. For some reason I have really been wanting Schlotsky’s all the time lately, but I think today ended that. I drove far to get some after 12 hours at school and then they forgot the lettuce and it wasn’t that good at all.

Grown-ups can act like such children. That happened at least twice today that I know of.

I am glad I get to see family this weekend! It is my mom’s side of the family, who is the musical side, and it is fun when we all sing Christmas songs. They always sing “O Holy Night” and everyone tries really hard to hit that last high note at the end.

I included in this post some pictures from our trip this summer. I just put them on there for fun. They were on my school computer because at work they are doing a “where in the world are travis teachers” display and asked for pictures of teachers all over the world. The top one is of us at Pergamum. The next one is me at the Collesseum in Rome. See my striped bag in the Rome picture (the strap on my shoulder), I got it at the cuma(pronounced “juma”) pazari (Friday bazzaar) in Canakkale, and I really like it. Too bad all my school stuff won’t fit in there or I would take it to school. It is such a happy color!

I told myself I needed to work on school stuff tonight, since I am going to be observed at some point in the next two weeks… but I just don’t think I can. After this I am going to bed.
