I am thankful for you!

25 November 2007

I am thankful for so many blessings in my life! Cliff, parents, the rest of my family, the rest of his family, a great church family, new friends and old friends, a good job, good students, a home, a fun blogging community, and mainly God’s provision in bringing us to a stable place in our lives and putting his hand in our lives to put us where he wants us. I have had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. We spent time with my family this year for Thanksgiving. We ate yummy food and enjoyed hanging out. Gracie got to play with my parents new dog, who is quite the puppy. She is so hyper and her tail is deadly, it is so powerful. She is just a bundle of muscle and really cute. I think she wore out Gracie!

We were able to get our patio furniture this weekend, and I am so ready to have a nice warm day to use it. (Don’t get me wrong, it was nice to have some cold weather for a change. Today was such a nice drizzly day.) It looks so great out there on the patio. I am so glad to have a place to sit outsdie now. I really like being outside when it is nice, but the little camping chairs that we have had out there just haven’t enticed me to go out and sit. I really wish we had a porch so we could put up our swing. But maybe we will sometime we will or at least a porch swing stand.

I really like shopping at places like TJMaxx, Ross, and Tuesday Morning. They all sell things at discount that I guess are overstock from other stores or something like that. I think it is called a “closeout” chain. You can find some good deals there. At the very least, sometimes things are a couple of dollars cheaper. I got red Kitchenaid kitchen shears for $6. I got a great table cloth for $6 at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago. Today I got some stocking hangers for half off from TJMaxx and a Christmas sign for $4.99. I have gotten Reef flipflops for $10.

On another money-saving note, if you shop at an HEB, you should check out their coupon wall. At my HEB, it is up near the cash registers. They have giant area with all the yellow store coupons that are sometimes found around the store. Last time I did a big grocery shop, I went there first and found all the coupons that related to stuff I needed, or could use, and I got all the coupons first before I started shopping. I ended up saving $15!! Do you use coupons? Do you have any good grocery shopping saving ideas? Please share!

Here is something funny…

It is a Barbie with my name. And she has a cat that looks kinda like Buddy. I guess in order to teach kids about having pets, they decided to be realistic and give Mika the cat a litter box. Apparently the cat drinks water, then wets in the little box. And Barbie Teresa has a scoop to scoop the clumps out.

Ewww! Who wants to play with that?!
