Lurkers Outed

So I have been perusing statcounter.com to find out how much traffic my blog is getting and from where, and it is quite interesting!

I see that someone has been reading my blog from a Starbucks in Round Rock…..Lindsey perhaps? KarenD?

Robbie must be reading from Australia…Niki in Montana….Leanna in Coppell…mab in NO…Erin in Bastroup….Aunt Kathy or Jenn in Lufkin

It’s fun to see all the locations and try to guess! (If I have somehow breached your security by putting your name and location together, let me know and I will erase it!)

Of all the locations from which people access my blog, some of them I have an idea of who it might be and some I can’t figure out.  I would love to know who you are!! So if you are reading this blog from the following places, you should leave a comment and identify yourself!!!

Hobbes, New Mexico…. You read it a lot…who are you? :)
Pekin, Illinois  (Elizabeth Beck? Jess’s sister?)
Needville, Texas
Raleigh, North Carolina (Judy on vacation?)
Amarillo, Texas
York, Pennsylvania (connected to Keith or Missy?)
Ireland (Sarah?)
Jacksonville, Florida (Jess on vacation?)

And I am curious about who is reading my blog in the UAE??

Wherever you are from, I am glad you found it and keep reading! :)

  1. The ip address comes from an ISP (Internet Service Provider). They are also listed. Such as – RoadRunner, Comcast, Clearwire, SBC Global, etc. Starbucks is their own, sort of, and it is listed as Starbucks Coffee Company – so we can guess that they were at Starbucks, and they have returned 5 times out of the last 100 page loads, and their reffering URL is watsononline.so-on-and-so-forth…so we can make an educated guess as to who is reading from a Starbucks in Round Rock. However, not all locations on the map are necessarily correct.

For example – Papa Steve’s would frequently come up as showing from the North Dallas area – something to do with his business ISP stuff.

Or – take you for example. There isn’t a dot that shows up in Ft. Worth. But there is from Dallas – three of the. One “Roadrunner,” one SBC (AT&T), and one “Josh Mcdowell Ministry A Division Of Campus Crusade for Christ” – so since I know which internet company you use, I can assume that it is your dot on the map, only its over in Dallas, where the ISP is registered probably.

  2. Sounds like you’ve been having fun sleuthing! I have not been in Round Rock, but I HAVE been getting on at Starbucks in my own town…maybe it’s just the closest “big city”?

  3. I’ll confess. Abby and I are the likely suspects for the UAE. While you all thought we were in the Rock, we were livin’ it up in Dubai! Actually, all of the incoming Internet there tends to be routed through other places, so our ISP address just looks like we’re somewhere else.

And now you’ve got Thailand, too!

See you in a little over a week!
