Virtual Shopping!

11 August 2010

Well the interesting thing about being 9 months pregnant is that you can’t really shop for much! You don’t want to buy more maternity clothes, but clearly you don’t fit into your old size, and have no idea when, if ever, you will again. And shoes don’t fit either because your feet are either swollen or have gotten bigger, or both! So you can’t even shoe shop really! So today as I was bored sitting around waiting on baby girl to start the process of showing up, I remembered how I had seen this website where you basically make an outfit board. (Like the mood boards for rooms on the Young House Love blog, for any of you who read that) The site is called Polyvore and you kinda shop and group items together. Here is my first one, and I think it is all super cute! I am really glad ruffles are so in fashion right now, I am a big fan! So go make yourself an outfit and post it and leave me a comment. I want to see what you pick out! (You can sort by price too, so this stuff all ended up being within a reasonable price.) You can click the picture to go to the site and see what items I put in and how much they cost. And then you can make your own!

Excellent Deal on a Photo Book

7 August 2010

What have I been working on the past 24 hours….a photo book! (I stayed up until 2 am doing this! And since I woke up at 10 I have been working on it some more! It is super fun!)

photo book

I don’t know about you but I don’t print many pictures since they are digital. I found this blog called Moms By Heart and she blogged about a deal where you get a free photo book from Picaboo. It is an 8 1/2 x 11 sized book with 20 pages free, which normally costs $39.99.  So I am in the process of making one, instead of printing off pictures and putting them in a photo album. It comes out looking kinda like digital scrapbooking but I don’t know how to do that.Go make one, or two!

Here is her post telling about it

No News and the Nursery

5 August 2010

I am 39 weeks pregnant. Get out of town. That is so crazy!

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and…well…there hadn’t been any change since last Tuesday. So she was like “You might have another week or so. Looks like you might make it to your due date after all. That’s just my best guess.” Augggggghhhhhh!!!! So I have decided that doctors have no real idea when you are going to go into labor. It is all just a big guessing game.

So yesterday I walked around the mall for like 3 hours. Today I walked around a different mall for a couple of hours and then had Taco Bell for dinner. (That is what put my mom into labor with me!) I guess being disappointed at a lack of progress made me realize that I am actually ready for her to be here.

If she is born next Monday, her birthday will be 8.9.10. That would be pretty cool.

So since there is no baby news to report, here are some nursery pictures.

The crib is mine from when I was little. Cliff’s mom painted the painting.

nursery (3)

My mom made the two quilts. You can see the various sheets and recieving blankets that match.

nursery 2 (4)

Here is the changing area with lots of fun books on the shelf. There is a little diaper caddy thingy on the side and and  ultrasound picture in the frame.

I am really happy with how it all came together. Now to just put her in it!

(p.s.- Would you pray that C gets to feeling better before I go into labor? He has a sore throat right now and feels yucky and I don’t think it would be good if he felt that way when it was time to go to the hospital!)
