Today I came across a post where someone was listing out their favorite books of 2012. A lot of them looked interesting and I put them in my goodreads account so I can remember them. As I look back at my books read in 2012, turns out I didn’t read that much! Wonder why?
I guess I was a little busy, moving to a foreign country and learning another language and all! Ha!
Click here you can find a list of my read and to-read books on Goodreads.
In the spring I read 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker and it was really good. Very entertaining too, as it was written like a journal as she goes throughout her experiment, so it was funny!
At the beginning of 2012, I read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, which I thought was really good.
I finally read Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace… One School at a Time this year, but recently heard its all not true, so that’s too bad.
I reread a bunch of things like the The Complete Anne of Green Gables Set , Mansfield Park
, and the When Calls the Heart
series. If you have only read Anne of Green Gables, you need to read the whole thing, which is like 8 books or so throughout her whole life. They are all great. Especially the ones where she is at college and after she has kids.
I am always on the lookout for good book suggestions. I know some of you followers are big readers (Lindsey and mab, I’m talking to you) so I am hosting my first every linky party all about your favorite read of 2012. (If you read this in a reader or email, you will have to click over to the real blog website to see this probably.)
Don’t know what a linky party is? It is just where you write a blog post on your blog (if you have one) about the same topic (this topic is your favorite book(s) you read in 2012) and then you come back here and put your link in the little box below. It gathers everyone’s blog posts about the same topic and then we can read each other’s good book suggestions! Sounds like fun, right?
So what are you waiting for? Yes its New Year’s Eve, but if you are like me and have a little one, you are just going to be at home tonight anyway, right!?
Go write your own blog post about it and link up to mine! Let’s all share good books we have enjoyed this year!!
(*Disclosure-some of these links are affiliate links.)

I’m reading 7 right now!
What do you think?
I will get on this project immediately! No promises I’ll remember what I read early in the year, though!
Yay! Can’t wait to see what you have read!
I don’t have a blog, but here’s what I’ve been reading lately:
for fun:
Tim Tebow’s autobiography Through My Eyes
Curtis Eichelberger’s Men of Sunday
George RR Martin’s series A Song of Ice and Fire — I finished the first book, A Game of Thrones, and I’m on to the second, A Clash of Kings
for school:
F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby
John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men
Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter
Our blog is private, but my favorite reads from 2013 were: The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Mark of the Lion series (I read all 6 of these books in less than a week), and the two Duggar books (which really are fantastic and chock-full of great advice!) Keith zoomed through Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Reilley, so I may try that one next (but I think I’ll try to find 7, too – not sure if I want to buy it, though…) Still, one of my favorite fiction books of all time is Safely Home by Randy Alcorn! Gracefullmama.com just posted her favorite books from 2012 (lady who reads a ton, and whose list from last year, I used quite a bit in picking books to read this year!)
