Do you make new year’s resolutions? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Today after E went to sleep for her nap, my eyes spotted “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young on my shelf. Someone had given it to me. It says at the end “Give yourself fully to this adventure of increasing attentiveness to my Presence.” Our pastor from home’s daily devotional series started today. He suggests that we must choose one thing, the most important thing, and the one thing we must do this year is to press on to know Christ.
I like this idea of increasing attentiveness. I struggle against the idea that I should wake 3o min before my family and spend my quiet time then. It just isn’t happening. But trying to be more attentive daily to His Presence, and throughout the day, seems something more attainable. And I sure could use more of Him in my days. Couldn’t we all?
So do I have a resolution? Its hard to commit and say I do. I sure do like to meet goals if they are given to me. And it is sure frustrating to my perfectionist self if I don’t. So I am reluctant to set a resolution but these are good thoughts to start the year with.
Do you have any resolutions?
(Be sure to write a blog post about your favorite book of 2012 and link it up to this post!)

I agree about setting a Resolution to be more attentive. To God. To my daughter. to my choices. I finally watched “Courageous” and then searched the internet for the actual “Resolution” so we can do one too.. turns out they also made one for Women/Mothers! So I found a .pdf of “The Resolution for Women” and started reading it!!! Very awesome! (This kinda ties into your other post about the books i guess!).. So, long-story-short, my Resolution is to be More Attentive. Slow the pace, listen to the quiet Voice, be thankful and rejoice in the small successes and smiles of everyday! oh, and spend less time on the computer!!! EEK!!! miss you girl!
Yeah, I should resolve to spend less time on the computer too!!! Miss you too!
Hug A for E!
