Mixbook $10 off link

I have done photo books in the past. I used Picaboo the first few times, and I did like them. This last time, someone recommended Mixbook to me and I found out that they ship internationally, so I used them. I just recently got my book from them, and really liked it. International shipping was not unreasonable. I also liked that I could use photos I already uploaded to my photo book on other projects, like calendars we made for Christmas presents.

I have found that in the age of digital photography, I don’t often print out lots of pictures and put them in books. It is just as easy and not that expensive to have a book made once a year. It is like our family’s yearbook. Some people scrapbook and some do digital scrapbooking. I photobook. (Is that a verb? I just made it one.) These photo books can turn out to look a little like digital scrapbooking, in my opinion, but not nearly as fancy.

I had some interesting conversation in class one day, trying to explain what this was. We all had to tell what we did the day before, and I said I had been making a photobook. So when it came in last week, I took it and showed it to my teacher and classmates and they loved it.

Here’s the front of mine. (Pardon the blurriness.)

Here is two pages inside.

Here’s the back. (I actually thought this collage would be the last page of the book, but it ended up on the back. Which is fine too)

Looks great T! I almost did a photobook for my family as Christmas presents…but didn’t really have the time. Do you find that it takes you a long time? And what about the quality of the photos? Are most of your pics from an iphone or a real camera?

It just depends on how much time you want to spend. They have some preformatted books where you just stick the pictures in. I started from scratch and chose the background, layout and pictures for each page of mine, so it took a little while. I also had a lot of pages and pictures so that made it take longer. Like 300 pictures or something. Most of my photos are from a real camera, but some are from an iphone. The iphone ones are quicker to upload since they are smaller files. I think the quality is good, with the exception that sometimes a really big picture on a page might be blurry if it isn’t good quality. Most of my pictures are smaller on the page, so they are fine.

Oh, I heart Mixbook. They are headquartered near me, too! I would LOVE to have a job there designing layouts… how fun would that be?
