I had a birthday and didn’t blog much. Just to talk about maternity clothes and share a few links.

March:

We went on the spring break mission trip, where we got Baylor. We also went to the rodeo. And we found out we were having a girl!

I dressed up like a cow, had another baby shower, checked some things off my to-do list, and went to a wedding.

August:

Well I think we all know what happened in August. Life as I knew it changed! I got a nursery ready, made some photo books, and HAD A BABY!

September:

Whew! Didn’t have time to blog much this month except to share some links and pictures!

October:

We started getting out and about a lot in October! We went to the zoo, to bible study, to the park, and to the grandparents house when Daddy went out of town for a week. Oh, and I dressed like Bruiser the bear for Hallo-wii.

November:

I scored some free jeans, I told E’s birth story, and we went to visit the great-grandparents for Thanksgiving.

December:

Wow! I barely blogged at all in December. Well we were very busy going to a Sunday School party, Jr Staff party, Staff party, my maternal side extended family party, my paternal side extended family, then a week long tour of Texas staying at three different places! Whew! Oh, and we went to the Texas Bowl!

Tuesdays!

Tuesdays!

Tuesdays are the day of the week that we actually have something scheduled. In the mornings we go to the Ladies Bible study at church. For the past 5 weeks or so, E couldn’t be in the nursery yet because she was too little, so her Daddy sweetly agreed to keep her in his office during that time. The theory was that she would fall asleep in the car on the way, and sleep the whole time in her Daddy’s office. On Sundays this has worked well, and she has slept through church and sometimes Sunday School too. But somehow, on Tuesdays, she must know that it is one-on-one Daddy time if she stays awake, and that is what she has done most Tuesdays. Here are some shots from last week.

And on Tuesday evenings, we have home group. We are starting to be awake more, so we were actually able to socialize a bit last week!

Zoo!

Zoo!

E and I made a visit to the zoo with some friends this week! It was so fun!

First stop: The elephants! (She had on her elephant shirt, even though you can’t tell and she slept through that part.)

There was a new five month old baby elephant named Baylor. So cute!!

Here are our sweet friends after our picnic lunch!

And here we are with our soon-to-be church nursery buddy. SK is only about 6 weeks older than E and they will both be in the “Bunny” room together at church this Sunday, as it is E’s first Sunday in the nursery. I am sure SK will show her the ropes!

After the zoo, we went by Daddy’s office.

Update

Update
  • We have been enjoying Netflix. We signed up for a free trial on C’s birthday when we wanted to watch a movie without going to get one. (You can stream it instantly on your computer or XBOX orWii.) You get a free trial for 30 days, which means you can watch the instant streaming movies for free and you can get one DVD at a time in the mail, when you return one, you get another. Some movies can only be gotten on DVD. We have watched lots of movies! Way more than we watched before! Lots of classics like “Murder on the Orient Express” (an Agatha Christie book) and “How to Marry a Millionaire”.
  • I have discovered a new park. It has a nice big pond that reminds me of our apartment in Irving, and a trail and ducks. E and I went there the other day. We all went there today with C’s mom who is visiting. So fun!P1040868
  • Progress is occurring on the T-shirt quilt. My sweet mom worked on the top when she was here, and I put the border on it last week. Next comes the back and then sandwiching it all together! Scary! Any advice?? It ended up big, we are talking a queen size quilt here!
  • The hubby has learned to make peanut brittle. And I might have learned to like it. :)
  • I made a sitting spot on the front porch and I really like it. I like to sit out when the dogs go out to explore the front yard. Way more interesting things happen in the front yard than the back yard. E even likes it! We are trying to soak up the nice weather!iphone 006
  • My cat is sleeping next to me, and he is snoring.buddy in drawer
  • I have been eating less fast food because we are on a tighter budget, and much to my shock, I think my taste buds are developing finer tastes. Not long ago I craved and loved every fast food meal I ate. Maybe it was pregnancy. I don’t know. That was true most of my life before pregnancy though. Lately, I have eaten several things, Sonic, Whataburger, and I didn’t enjoy it. It was salty and not very flavorful! I really don’t know what to make of this, but it will probably be helpful to my budget and waistline! Maybe it is the Lord’s way of encouraging me to not be tempted by spending money on eating out!
  • Baby E is doing well! She went for her 2 month appointment yesterday. (!!) She now weights 10 lbs 10 ozs and is 25 inches long. Everything checked out well and she got her immunizations. She is cooing and smiling and it is very fun!P1040909

Randomness….

  • Baby Girl is quite the mover and shaker these days! Sometimes my stomach moves so much it is comical to watch and imagine what she must be doing in there! I have had indigestion a good bit, and am now waking up at least twice every night to use the bathroom. Fun times!
  • Last week was my first full week off for the summer. I worked on my to-do list the first few days, and then rested the next couple of days. I realized that I will not have time to myself to just rest and not work or take care of a child again for a long time, so I better take advantage of it!
  • This week is VBS! I am working in the 5 year old room and today we had 19 kids. It went well, but I am pretty tired. I came home and took a nice nap!

  • Here is a picture of us from the hubby’s grandmother’s 80th birthday party that we went to a few weekends ago. He has lost more than 20 lbs!  (He is using an iphone app called Lose It to keep track of calories.) Go Hubby! Our anniversary is coming up this weekend! Happy Anniversary to all you other folks out there with June anniversaries! Our pastor preached a good message on marriage last Sunday called “Married with a Mission”. Here it is.
  • Anyone following the Big 12 issue? I think they should just leave it all alone! It will be interesting to see how it turns out. We drove around Baylor last time we were in Waco. I got all teary eyed thinking of how much I love that school. (and some pregnancy hormones probably thrown in there too…)  It has so many special memories and was such a sweet time! Thanks Mom and Dad for sending me there!
